Michael LaCour performs as B L A C K I E and began the project by assembling large DIY PA systems and staging energetic, often unscheduled live performances. He gained local recognition in Houston, was featured on the cover of the book Houston Rap Tapes, and has released multiple albums and EPs from 2008 onward, including Wilderness of North America (2008) and Noise God (2024).
